How To Cook Goto or Lugaw – Congee – For Your Home Business w/ Costing

An all time favorite Filipino food called congee or porridge. A combination of boiled rice and glutinous rice with pork or beef innards. Sauteed in ginger, garlic, turmeric and onion garnish with scallion, toasted garlic and boiled eggs.
Try this great recipe that you can turn into a home business as well!

Goto or Porridge

Ingredients:
2 tbsp of cooking oil – P2.00
1 medium ginger, thinly sliced – P5.00
1 medium onion chopped – P5.00
4 cloves of garlic, minced – P3.00
1 medium turmeric ginger, crushed – P5.00
300g pork intestine – P30.00
1 cup rice – P7.00
1/2 cup glutinous rice – P10
10 to 12 cups of water
1 pack kasubha or saffron – P5.00
1 pc beef or pork cubes – P5.00
2 tbsp of rock salt
fish sauce

Toppings:
roasted garlic
scallion or dahon ng sibuyas – P10.00
boiled egg
chicharon

Costing:
Cost of ingredients: P87.00
Overhead Cost (40% of ingredients cost for water, gas, elec, fare etc) – P34.80
Total Cost: P121.80

You can sell lugaw for P20 and Goto for P30 to P35.00
