we’re challenging you to start today’s
biceps workout with three sets
of 30 reps on barbell curls. first 10 reps with
a wide grip
then you’re going to change to a neutral
grip and ten more reps
then without rest move to a close grip
and ten more reps
repeat this for two more sets yes that’s
a total of 90 reps and you’ll hit your
biceps from all different angles and
really get the blood pumping through
your arms
now we move to isolation exercises with
concentration hammer curls. one common
mistake is to let the arms swing around
during a bicep curl
so this preacher curl bench will keep
your arms locked and really make the
bicep do the work. notice the hammer grip –
you’re holding the weight upright
this will work a different part of your bicep
to the traditional curl, full range of
movement here and squeeze at the top
next we’re moving over to the incline
bench for barbell curls. again we’re
using the bench for stability to help
focus the effort right on the bicep
and just to make sure those biceps are
completely exhausted
let’s rep out to failure on the final
set
so now it’s triceps and here we’re using
the cable with a straight bar and again
we’re going for maximum gains by
changing the grip. so we’re starting with
these overhand push downs, slow steady
movement with a squeeze on the extension
then you simply change to an underhand
grip and go again. notice that slight
lean forward with the upper arms locked
to really focus on the back of the arms
squeeze it out at the bottom of the
movement. so that’s another of
