This sucks but is not entirely terrible. Like me.

The acidic proton from the acetic acid (vinegar) sets off a whole wide ride, resulting in the decomposition of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and the formation of sodium acetate (not discussed), water, and carbon dioxide.
